The sewer is diverted once the approval for the scheme is received and the rainwater discharge drain is installed across the Recreation Ground. The piling mat is installed but the piling, scheduled for 24 March, is deferred for four weeks as the response to coronavirus begins to bite. The piling company arrive on site
Work got under way on 8 January with the removal of the nets and the clearance of the site. There were stops and starts through February because of the wet weather (the wettest February on record!) and time taken to secure Southern Water Ltd’s approval for the sewer diversion.
